The fate of 'everyone who wronged Odysseus in his own house" really sits badly with me.
Notice how the suitors (noblemen, princes in high positions) get the 'noble death' aka by battle, while the maids, whose main crime was sleeping with the suitors don't get a 'respectable death' - which would be death by sword AFTER being forced to clean up the blood and their lovers' bodies (!) - but Telemachus rather hangs them up! Then the servant who aided the suitors with weapons - because Telemachus himself admitted to making a mistake that the servant cleverly exploited - gets torn apart like an animal?! The suitor's body later gets claimed by relatives or sent home via ship for proper burial.
Such a stark contrast between what the upper class and the lower class 'deserves'.
