Glad it all came together, felt like there weren't really loose ends. But...
- I wasn't ever really invested. Not sure cozy mystery is my thing, but I'm glad I tried it.
- some people pointed out some side-eye re: Sun Li maybe being able to speak perfect English some of the time but not speaking the same way during serving of customers... it reeks of stereotyping/ prejudice. I didn't really catch that (listening to the audiobook while doing other tasks), but there were enough other "type-cast" animals that felt like a weird choice. If you're having a whole fantasy world that's just animals who are humanoid, why include potential stereotypes there??
- idk, to make the town slut be the murderer? the jealous mistress who tried to pin the crimes on the wife? and have a whole villain monologue reveal? ugh
