So this is a book about writing a story that then becomes a bestseller and the stories told in this book are circular in the sense that they constitute each other. One cannot exist without the other and there is no final say in what was there first: (Or at least that is what the core message wants to tell? If I understood that correctly at least..) Zelu and her creation of the Rusted Robots or Ankara telling the story of Ngozi's great grandmother who was an astronaut... Which in turn was something Zelu became in the end in a way.

For a while I entertained the idea that perhaps we never actually saw pieces of Zelu's work but only where made to believe that Ankara's chapters were from the book Zelu wrote.... But as of now I don't find enough evidence in the text to support that thesis or at least enough that contradicts the hints that Ankara's chapters are in fact supposed to be excerpts from Zelu's book. Realising that ... In the end ... would have been a great twist. If in hindsight with the twist in mind one was able to detangle the stories one thought and read as if the one being the creation of the other just because the book structure played with reader expectations... Trusting readers would fill in the gaps just to subvert the expectation in the end...

Buuuut. Alas. I don't think this happened (I quickly went back to the first Ankara chapters and there were more hints, I think, that solidify that Ankara's chapters are supposed to be excerpts from Zelu's book). Or... The text switched and transitioned more and more from.. Zelu writing a novel to...Ankara writing the story of Ngozi's great grandmother... Could be... Since Ankara becomes more and more an active player with agency and plans instead of just wandering around receiving important information and being left to her devices with it... and Zelu on the other hand becomes more and more passive kind of... things happen to her but after the incident with the almost kidnapping...and that situation really turned Zelu's story into something like... Bad storytelling with too much drama and over the top stuff with the trip to space and dna manipulation...🤔

Just putting it here... Perhaps that's just way too much reading into nothing...😅 Perhaps some of you guys have ideas...?
