Marcus had such an escalation that did not make sense until Wendy explained that the timeline she said was their old one was in ruins. Oof what a difficult situation where a teenage boy who is seeking refuge in a different planet is being bullied by beings he considers beneath him while having access to dangerous weapons. I can understand some where his hurt is coming from and how it got to the point of killing two humans but wow!
I really appreciate that Lan won't punish Wendy further since she is a child and was trusting her older brother to know better and was trying to help. Truly the knowledge that her actions led to two people dying is a punishment in itself.
I am curious about whether Marcus was really upset about Lan called slurs because it is a disrespect to his mother in general or because he doesn't want to accept that Lan is in some way queer.
Aunty Floresta seems like such an important part of this family and I'm so glad she's there!! However stabilising a child is wild??? I did like in the previous chapters how Aunty Floresta brought out Edwin and how she treats him in general. He's kind of giving ASD (I see myself in him as an autistic person who likes baking. Sometimes baking is easier than peopleing. I also think him noticing all the details and observing people is in line with ASD.)
