God, I know what you mean 😭 this book genuinely has so many moments that just go too far for absolutely no reason. Realism is one thing, but this book just finds a way to make everything grotesque

You know this book has a lot of little things in it it just…doesn’t need. Like saying Matthew was so startled when he woke up he farted. Lots of chapters you could remove and not affect the over arching plot so far. But this…this takes the cake. I’m with some other people now where I say can we maybe check this authors hard drive?
