I have spoiler-free general thoughts on "They use spikes to keep them away from human settlements." Sharing birdwatching experience is caring, right? 🐦
It's so funny to me that my city is filled with those thin metal spike layered fences all over the buildings, but so many pigeons would just sit ON the spikes. Some even try to make nests there (well, pigeons being pigeons). When I just moved here and saw it once, I thought "Oh you're a weirdo birb," but now I know: people are weirdos who can't share their concrete "paradise" even with a single more species. How hateful that is!
And don't even let me start on those ulta-/infrasonic bird deterrent/repellent devices that hurt us humans too!
