just finished a happy death by camus and can’t stop thinking about what it really means to face death on your own terms. do you think it’s possible to live without fear of death? or is that idea too idealistic?

i picked up this book because i was drawn to the colors and the animation style. i didn’t know anything about the story or the message behind it — i just went in with curiosity, and i was so pleasantly surprised. it’s a beautiful and endearing read. the message really stayed with me. it made me reflect on myself in ways i didn’t expect, and it also helped confirm some feelings i already had. i honestly think it’s something everyone should read at some point, no matter how old you are. it moved me deeply.

i started reading this book because i was curious about all the criticism it had received but i ended up really liking it. it’s an important book not just for korean readers but for women everywhere. even though it takes place in another country so many parts of it felt familiar to me. the small things the everyday struggles the quiet ways women are expected to stay silent all felt real. it made me reflect on my own experience and realize that some things are sadly universal. this book is simple and that’s what makes it powerful. it says a lot without trying too hard. i’m glad i read it.
