4.5 ⭐️ i really enjoyed this book despite finding it a bit long. setting that aside, everything was beautiful. seeing jabez's reality was a huge blow, as he had to go through so much alone, and thinking about his pain was painful for me, as i grew incredibly fond of this character. i loved his personality, and call me cheesy, but love is so powerful, even more than jabez himself, and this book is a great demonstration of that. i fell head over heels for zylah, it was so great to read about her evolution, i thought it was precious that she didn't hide her feelings for jabez and made him feel like he belonged, and that she would always be there for him. the way they fell in love was precious. zylah's personality was like a big hug for my heart. i love strong and determined women, but also sensual and delicate, and zylah is the perfect example of that beautiful duality. the ending was the balm for my heart, seeing them all together, closing wounds and building a beautiful future together was what i longed for and reading this series was a journey that i've loved!
