I absolutely LOVED this book. I found myself literally LOL because Vera is just such a funny, well-written character - she reminds me of the Pacific Islander aunties/grandmas I grew up with. The way everything and everyone came together because of the death of an a******, then formed meaningful connections along the way made it so wholesome. The food they ate made me HUNGRY too. I wish they all agreed to keep the murderer a secret and go on with their lives, because I think he absolutely deserved it and their lives were better without him in it, but whatever!

I'm only 5 chapters in but I've laughed quite a bit. The way Vera is described makes it easy to visualize, which makes it funny! 🤣
