    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

25%: I’m so happy to be back in a Chloe Walsh book, and not only that, but following Claire and Gibsie. With these two and their banter, you just know they are meant to be together. 🥰. I’m loving that we have the Lizzie plotline, as I think it will come into this story massively.

50%: I am enjoying this book, but there is a lot of miscommunication, which I am trying not to scream or get frustrated with, as that is a pet peeve of mine. One character is reeling, grating on me, and I wish they would just not open their mouth. The more I read, the more manipulative and horrible they are. Claire and Gibsie are just so funny together, and I can’t wait to see what happens moving forward.

75%: I do think this book is a lot more immature than the other two in terms of the miscommunication and fallouts between Claire and Gerard. The others, whilst there was conflict, didn’t feel like this. I think I have figured out a major plot point, but we’ll see if I’m right. If I am, then the book is about to get a whole lot more emotional.

100%: Wow… the last 15% of this book was heavy, I really would recommend checking the trigger warnings, as this is not a light-hearted contemporary. My heart broke in the end stages of this book. I was right about the major plot point, and it was about to get emotional. I do have to knock a little off for immaturity earlier in the book, but Chloe Walsh has done it again with another hit.

25%: For this prequel, we follow Vaughan’s grandparents, Dermot and Ada. We follow Ada as she tries to break in a horse, as she wants to get into racing, and here comes Dermot, who works at the ranch each summer and breaks in difficult horses, but they have history, and he’s been away for three years and is suddenly back. We, of course, got mentions of Dermot in Off to the Races, so I'm liking seeing how his story panned out.

50%: There isn’t much outside plot with this one, and I wouldn’t expect it with it being a novella, but I’m still enjoying my time with it; it’s nothing amazing, but it’s an okay read.

75%: Again, we have another conflict that didn’t need to be a conflict. Sometimes, this grates on me with romance as I think they feel they need to have a third-act breakup, when if people just talked before assuming it would be so much better.

100%: This didn’t blow me away either, same as Off to the Races, I’m not sure if it’s me or the fact that I know Elsie’s later books are better than this.
