Jeanie reminds me of me. Iâm equally excited to see where the story goes and also terrified of what sheâll say next

I enjoyed this more than I thought. If you look at it from the perspective of someone going on a healing journey, with his own mind being the main villain, it reframes it pretty well.

Hey, beautiful people đ« After that post I made in the forum I felt so surprised to see so many people relate to my situation, and it was overwhelming (in the best way) to feel everyone's support and understanding. So I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to give me a little uplifting, it really made a difference.
This made me think that we really are a community of dear anonymous friends, who support each other through the love of books. Which led me to this thought: There are so many beautiful and original usernames... What's the story behind each one? (except for one_crazy_eliott, I think I understand the reason behind Mr. Crazy's username đ€đ€đ€)
So, if you feel comfortable, share the story behind it. I think it will help bring us closer and keep everyone's anonymity anyway.
I'll start: The OGs know I started PB as fantasy.betareader but decided later to change my username to Pipsy to help me feel more connected here. This is a nickname my sister gave me when I was 3 or 4 years old, and it stuck until today. My whole family calls me by it, my friends, my teachers, my bosses, etc. Even on my passport, my signature says Pipsy. So that's basically my name đ

What are some of your romance hot takes?
I'll be honest and say I don't read much romance-focused books, as in the central plot is around the romance. BUT my hot take is that the "you're mine" and "you belong to me" tropes are just not that good imo đŹđŹ
Like, what happened to the "you belong with me" vibes? đ I HATE possessive men they pmo soooo much. I just can't see the appeal. And some authors have literal TEENAGERS say this. Like, don't you have studies, dude? (I say this as a teen, I'd RUN if a boy said that to me.)
Also, why do I feel like romance books are more lust than love nowadays?? (cough Ana Huang cough, no offense to the people who like her)

hi! with so many new and old readers, and with such terribly scary serious news all the time regarding banned books, defunding libraries, laws restricting romance books, and just general access to e-readers/audiobooks on mass, etc., please please please get involved in your local library. show support as much as you can: getting a library card, using resources, going to programs, or even joining their library board/friends of the library. the best way to save books and information is by saving libraries.
