When I first heard about this book, I knew I would need to get my hands on a copy eventually, but I had no idea just how much I would adore every page of it. Peter’s work is genuinely exquisite; I looked at every design included in detail & it took me nearly a month to make my way through it, spending an hour or two most days marvelling at his talent & the standard of his work. More than once, I found tears in my eyes just because of how incredible Peter’s story is — to have this much input on so many incredible elements of a show adored by so many is beyond my comprehension. I cannot even begin to imagine how that must feel.
Peter says that he thinks he had the best job on Doctor Who & seeing his work & knowing what it was developed into makes it hard to feel otherwise. The Art of Time Travel is an expensive book (&, admittedly, I did get it on sale), but it is truly worth every penny to get such an insight into designs that live in my hearts & those of so many others. It genuinely feels like a privilege to have access to such incredible work.

I will absolutely be writing an extended review on this book because I’ve not gushed about it nearly enough here.

This is a hard one to rate & I may well amend it after I’ve slept on it.
Extended review pending (maybe?).
