Network Effect (The Murderbot Diaries, #5)

It calls itself Murderbot, but only when no one can hear. It worries about the fragile human crew who've grown to trust it, but only where no one can see. It tells itself that they're only a professional obligation, but when they're captured and an old friend from the past requires urgent assistance, Murderbot must choose between inertia and drastic action. Drastic action it is, then.

4.75 (just because the plot was a little confusing at times) The emotions in this book are so well done, plus how all the relationships develop *chef's kiss* It was fun to have a whole novel rather than the novellas, although I did like that format for the story that was being told. ART is my fave ever since book 2 and I was going to actually lose it if it was dead. And then everyone banded together to save murderbot and I just love that for us. I am so curious to see what happens with SecUnit 3. Very impressed with the fact that each of the POVs read as distinct characters, it would have been easy for those to blend.

    Highlighted quotes:
"I am actually alone in my head, and that's where 90 plus percent of my problems are"
"There is a lot about what is going on here that I don't understand. But I am participating anyway"
