A single day a year isn't enough to change the scope of this unfortunately ongoing issue, so here's a selection of feminist non-fiction by German* authors/in original German versions!

*Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and any other country of origin, provided the book is written in German in its original version :)

Different kinds of non-fiction books about gender, feminism, and related topics. People like black women or neurodivergent women are twice or more marginalised, and often it's not clear whether treatment was due to (for example) skin colour or perceived gender, so I'll add some books about other kinds of marginalisation as well. I haven't read all books (yet); if one is problematic, please tell me so in a comment!

Fiction and nonfiction that question patriarchy, critique power, and imagine new futures for anyone tired of individualistic feminism. From ghosts to economics, magic to memoirs, these books challenge everything, and make you think, feel, and maybe even rage a little.

since most nonfiction lists and quests are pretty dominated by american centric books, here are some originally written in german and/or about germany
