Fake Biker Bear Boyfriend (Bears of Forest Heights, #3)

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Pretending to be in love with a shifter is dangerous . . . My sister and I have never gotten along, but she’s adamant she wants me to attend her wedding. The worst part is she’s marrying Tony, who was my high school sweetheart. That’s where Sting comes in. He’s my date for the wedding. When he hears Crystal talking me down—like she always does—he stepped in and offered to be my “boyfriend.” While it’s true I don’t need rescuing, having a strong, sexy shifter on my arm is too tempting to refuse. Then when Sting stands up for me in front of my family, my heart is having a hard time believing our relationship is fake. Now Tony is behaving oddly, which has got me on edge, and Sting’s bear isn’t happy about it. I could be wrong, but it’s almost as if his bear believes I’m his mate...

Terrible family and even worse ex-boyfriend.

Sting is a bear shifter, friends with the first 2 heroes, Alexis, Lex, works with Kim from the prior book. Ooof, Lex has an awful sister and ex-boyfriend now engaged to the sister. Sting steps in when the ex-boyfriend is getting handsy in a bar, and then says he’s her boyfriend when the sister turns up being the absolute worst.

Lex doesn’t really want to do the fake dating thing, she feels super uncomfortable lying even if it is to her super shitty mom and sister. Sting really has no reason to volunteer, other than he’s a good dude and likes Lex. He does some great standing up for her and building her up that’s really sweet. They quickly decide to real date.

This takes a dark turn with the ex-boyfriend trigger warning for drugging someone and attempted rape

This series/author also likes to do a thing where one of the sex scenes is actually a fantasy one of the characters narrates to themselves. Kind of an interesting way to get sex on page early in the book without the characters actually getting together yet. Hot, but feels a little over done when the reader (me, its me) is reading a book a day in the series.
