For all of the mythos around it, few people truly understand the Appalachian region or why it is the way it is. This list is by no means comprehensive, but hopefully it's a start.

This is the list from which I'll be choosing for my Personal Syllabus this year. It explores the question: "How has the history and culture of Appalachia impacted Appalachian literature and storytelling?"
