Thank you! I’m reading “Appalachian Mountain Christianity” for a class I’m taking this semester, and a lot of the books the author cites talk about the mythology around the area, what issues the area is facing, etc.! I also noticed that for all of the lists here about Appalachia, there weren’t any for nonfiction works, so I’m happy to fill the niche!
i was born and raised in tennessee but my family is from appalachia and most of my extended family still lives there so it just warms my heart to see people see it as a real place with nuance, so thank you!! some of these are already on my tbr but i'm excited to look at the others
I've been thinking about the concept of a "personal curriculum" for 2026 bc of the trend... being from east tn, this might be what I go with!
