Recs if you like The Kingdom of Copper...

Lets give our brothers and sisters who write fiction the platform they deserve ☀️

All excellent stories

Trilogies or longer collections of chunky, hefty, meaty fantasies with in-depth world building and political powerplay, perhaps religious themes, with romance as a sub-plot rather than the driving force

These can be contemporary, fantasy or science fiction.

Also NO Zionist authors. If any of these authors are Zionists pls tell me so i can remove their books.

(More like popular books i want to read but I'm terrified to start because i fear I'll be disappointed But yeah they don't have spice i checked trigger warnings.)

mena fantasy, romantasy, mythology master list

What it says on the tin. I've heard truly excellent things about all of these, so maybe give them a try if you haven't yet?

Books with at least one excellent friendship that is core to the novel!

(I decided siblings and friends to lovers don’t count, unless the in the latter one the romance part is SO minor to the plot and the friendship is wayyy more significant.)

Hrcyed 3.0

Fantasy stories where the main character working through trauma is a focus of the story, sometimes in healthy ways and sometimes not so much.

completed (or almost completed) SFF duos and trios for when you don’t want to commit to a long series

Trilogies. Trilogies! A list full of trilogies. This has a collection of titles I'm interested in and some I've simply come across. To save you the trouble, I made sure to put all books in a trilogy in this list. Enjoy! 💐

These are not a reflection of how good the series is as a whole. Just strictly if book two is better than book one.

The (now defunct) podcast titled Keeping It 101: A Killjoy's Introduction to Religion offered an academic, intersectional look at religions around the world. They often included homework in their episodes to expand upon what they discussed. This list compiles all of the books they suggest.

Shout-out to Dr Megan Goodwin and Dr Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst, hosts of the podcast. Thanks for teaching us things for free.

World-building-heavy trilogies I've read, primarily in science fiction, fantasy, and dystopias. I'm talking maps, magic systems, political systems, the lot. I'll take suggestions, but will need evidence/verification from a few other sources or will need to read them myself. Prequels or standalone books set in the same world will not be added, unless they come in a trilogy version of their own. Also taking suggestions on emojis because I don't know what fits well here lol

Pretty specific to what I have left, but could be useful to you if you're doing HRCYED 3. If you have questions on what prompt something is going to just leave a comment.

Trilogies that all have an average 4 or more star ratings and at least 100 points of engagement (reviews & posts) in Pagebound across all three books. This list is collected from first books in series from the Master Fantasy and Romantasy List by readandtellstories. For those times when I need highly rated epics. I have not read all of these books. Please let me know if any should be added.

For those characters you wanna punch so hard that they enter our world and get isekai-ed as the villain destined for death in the next world.

Must be well written. Must be characters that you’re MEANT to hate, not heroes youre pissed off at for being dumbasses. Must make you want to turn pages until they get what they deserve (or in Malta’s case, when they get the greatest character development short of Prince Zuko).
