Recs if you like Every Day...

Allow me to set the scene:

It’s 2 AM on a school night but you only have 100 pages left. You will power through. Forget the math test you have first period. This is your priority. And you must know how the book ends.

I don’t know what sort of millennial catnip these 2000s YA authors put in these books, but let me tell you, my “baby millennial” self was addicted.

Pagebound Millennials: what YA were you reading?

Books with protagonists (or love interests) who are sexually or romantically attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender.

Sometimes the word is used on the page, and someone times it has been inferred. Just trying my best.

Books featuring events like body takeovers, body jumping, body swapping, parasitism, and other similar phenomena! Please feel free to give recommendations in the comments!

A collection of the next wave of influential Classics of our generation. These books will become staples in homes and schools contain themes that will always be relevant. Inspired by Pagebound Club Post I made.

Books that were adapted into movies (not tv shows). Let's make this list as long as possible!

(going to only add the first book in a series)

Happy International Non-Binary People's Day! Here's a pile of books that our rec list contributors love that feature non-binary representation (some explicit, some subtextual/interpreted - so your interpretation may differ, and that's okay!). (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

books that remind me of my Gen Z childhood, not necessarily books published 1997-2012. i haven’t read all, but most.

feel free to leave recs in the comments!

Mainly for books with characters who are genderfluid or for books discussing gender-fluidity. But books with nonbinary or genderqueer characters are also welcome! Open for recommendations. ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💜

Happy Genderfluid Visibility Week!! Here's a list of books we love with genderfluid characters (this may be explicit representation or subtext/interpretation by the reader). (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

Books that are banned, censored, removed from bookshops, marketplaces, and libraries, and writers that are considered as a threat to the authorities. Some called it a "Fahrenheit list".

Unique novels with concepts unlike any other book I've ever read or heard of. Recommendations welcome!

back in 2012 I used to run a multi-fandom account on insta/tumblr and all these books/series were fandoms I posted about. inspired to make this as some of these series I've not read for ~10 years and I want to go back and reread them, and the nostalgia in me wanted to create this list for anyone else who misses this era of fandom tumblr 🥹

small note: i don't support jkr, nor am i a fan of the series, but i have included HP for the timeframe and the influence it had on me at that age.

Books that will make you question your emotional stability! Specifically for books that aren't marketed as "sad"/"heartbreaking", entirely hopeless or emotionally deep but still invoke a deep sadness. Books in this list should contain details that make you say "wait, wait, wait...what was that?"

Books with Trans rep and all the identities under the Trans umbrella, like non binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, etc.

Teenage nostalgia 2012-2016

But like good weird

Young adult recs cuz we all weird and we love it

A queer book collection that isn't only tragic love stories and offers titles spanning every genre, from science fiction and fantasy to literary and historical fiction, so hopefully everyone can find something they like. All these books centre queer characters and/or relationships, but they are not always the sole central focus. Because we are more than who we love.

-books that were once, currently are, or risk being banned? -do these criticize the cultural-socio-political circumstances of their era? -shouldn't we be reading these?
