Really liked this book with its strong Poldark vibes due to the Cornwall setting and mining board shenanigans. Especially so since I am currently in Cornwall. I found the characters very likeable and was most certainly rooting for Eliza and Eaton both in their romance and to give the co-shareholders of Eliza’s mining company their comeuppance. Again, picture Poldark here. Sophie was an adorable and funny addition and brought the lightheartedness in between sometimes heavy themes. This book is also a perfect setup for the rest of the series and I am going to dive straight into book 2. CW: infertility, death, grief.
