Exactly what it says on the tin: queer stories that also have ghosts.

A list collating queer fiction with heavy fruit symbolism. The thematic usage of fruit in queer fiction is traced back to Florida Fruit Citrus Commission spokeswoman Anita Bryant, who fought hard to repeal gay rights and spread homophobic disinformation. Queer literature in the years after reclaimed the orange as a symbol of queer love and joy, and this has since expanded to other fruits. Disclaimer: I've read a few books on this list and am hoping to get through all of them!

Inspired by Maisie Peters' song "History of Man", this list includes novels and nonfiction books that deal in some way with themes surrounding the subjugation of women and misogyny, such as unequal power dynamics in romantic relationships, subversion of stereotypes and societal expectations of motherhood. May prompt female rage.
