Recs if you like Poor Deer...

in progress - taking suggestions

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic / lesbian characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Following women on journeys to do weird and maybe violent things.

another trend I've noticed lately - bisected & dual color covers

alternate titles broke: weird girl lit woke: weird wildlife lit freak fauna creatures serving cunt in a god-fearing way animals want me, literary fiction fears me

these are not just books about animals. these are books where an owl/crow/deer/shark/bear/genderqueer mountain lion/other concerning critter arrives carrying the entire emotional weight of the novel and nobody does anything about it.

books that fall in the “woman unraveling” subgenre. life is so much, and sometimes the only way we know how to react is to spiral…. for better or worse !

books that stick with you for months and leave you thinking

Miniature novel under 200 pages

books under 300 pages that knocked my socks off in some way or another!
