Sometimes when I need a reading refresh, all it takes is a good Harlequin Desire book to cure me! I have been down a rabbit hole of not so steamy paranormal romance, so I broke the glass on this Naima Simone I have been saving. Blame It on the Billionaire is the last in her Blackout Billionaires series. Nadia and Grayson have a one night stand during a blackout. When Grayson discovers she actually works at his company, he is upset, but then he proposes Nadia pretend to be his fake fiance to keep his family’s matchmaking in check.
I really loved this book! It is spicy, the pacing is exactly what I needed, and the characters are fantastic! Nadia is a woman who has had to make sacrifices to raise her younger brother. Her one night stand with Grayson is the one indulgence she has allowed herself and of course, there are consequences! I really loved the contrast between Nadia and Grayson’s upbringing. Nadia had an absent mother and Grayson had everything money can buy. As adults, Nadia is the one who knows exactly what she is deserving of and Grayson is the one who believes himself unworthy. Their arc was so fun to read! I would recommend this to anyone who needs a mental refresh. It’s a standalone, but I honestly rec the entire series!
