Presumed Innocent (Kindle County Legal Thriller, #1)

Enjoyment: 1.5Quality: 1.5Characters: 1.5Plot: 1.5

Hailed as the most suspenseful and compelling novel in decades. Presumed Innocent brings to life our worst nightmare: that of an ordinary citizen facing conviction for the most terrible of all crimes. It's the stunning portrayal of one man's all-too-human, all-consuming fatal attraction for a passionate woman who is not his wife, and the story of how his obsession puts everything he loves and values on trial—including his own life. It's a book that lays bare a shocking world of betrayal and murder, as well as the hidden depths of the human heart. And it will hold you and haunt you ... long after you have reached its shattering conclusion.

I finally actually started reading this and it's interesting so far. The first chapter kind of confused me until the middle of it. Second chapter is a little better. Going to try to finish this sometime in the next two weeks.

Presumed Innocent was a book club choice that I probably would not have picked up on my own. I am glad I stuck with it. The twists and turns did keep me into it, but it was just kind of "eh" for me. I was listening and the density might have been too much of a challenge for me to follow. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more in print. I can see why others like it, but it felt like a Law and Order episode for me, and personally I prefer my courtroom drama on the TV.
