A human starting over light years from home…. Accepting a job on Spire Station sounded great in theory. Now that I’m on an enormous alien space station with no humans in sight, I’m questioning the sanity of that choice. But it’s not all bad. When my best friend Mezli tricks me into using a pleasure sim, I find an unexpected connection with Breks, the intriguing alien running the sim. He’s everything I’d want in a partner—charming, empathetic, and so damn sexy. The only problem? He hides behind a holo and refuses to let me see his true form. For all I know, he could be a sentient ooze, but I’m too far gone to care. I want him no matter what he looks like. Now I just have to find a way to prove it. An alien desperate to forget his heartbreak… When I took a job at SimTech Suites, I’d planned to use pleasure sims to escape any thoughts of my ex. However, a far more enticing source of distraction shows up—a purple-haired human named Fina with the body of a goddess and shy, delightful wit to match. Too bad I’m nothing like the attractive holo I use for my job. I’m a seladin with sharp teeth, brutal claws, and menacing features that terrify most aliens. Her uneasy reaction after our chance meeting out on the station only confirms that I can never show her my true form. No matter how desperate I am to make her mine. Space for Love is a cozy sci-fi romance featuring a plus-size FMC, a monstrous alien MMC, and enough spice to keep you warm even in the coldness of space.

I like the setup for this book: a human and alien pairing where she has not been abducted! It was interesting to have the "fish out of water" element be as relatable as a new job and a new place.

I thought the best friend Mezli was fun and fierce, if a bit reckless and sometimes pushy. I'm happy that she is a main character in book number two

I wanted some resolution a little bit more quickly with who the main male character truly was (identity reveal), the fact that he allowed the deception to happen all the way up through physical intimacy was an issue for me. But I'm glad that his reveal as to who he truly was happened when it did and we got to see many opportunities for the characters to have conversations and take time to work through that conflict. I was glad that he groveled as much as he did.

In my Vlog I said that I did not think that this would be very memorable, and yes I feel that that is the case five weeks later...

The actual physics of how the Hologram / simulation thing worked was confusing, this must be amazing technology!

I liked that there was a flip flop of the hero having misgivings and insecurities over his appearance, I feel that it is more frequent for the female main character to have those hang-ups

I do think that there was good connection between our two characters and many sweet moments later in the book, including discussions on their respective cultures and expectations

The inclusion of the main female character's ex who comes to move to the Spire was an interesting component, I liked that they were friendly and there wasn't much drama there. As opposed to his ex showing back up to try to get back together being a moment that was maybe a bit unnecessary considering we already had a lot of his characterization?

I liked the description of all the different kinds of alien species, but I did want a little bit more about the setting and World building overall. Unlike many other reviewers, I actually liked the anxiety that was demonstrated by both main characters.
