2019-2026

2026 will be my third year actively trying to read as many Women's Prize For Fiction nominees as I can, and seeing as I have a really high rate of enjoyment I'll be continuing to try and fill in and read the backlist also. I hope this can be a list that I add to that anyone interested in the prize who has similar taste to me can dip into!

Books centered on characters navigating pregnancy or early motherhood. Reading from differing perspectives on this topic showcases how women from various backgrounds may experience this part of life (even if most on this list are fictional). Their narratives still offer insight into the emotional and psychological realities of pregnancy and early motherhood, and show how it can influence their mental health - for better or for worse.

Pregnancy and its horrors and/or joy. Motherhood and women's bodies. Motherhood and dystopia. Motherhood and horror. Motherhood and grief. Motherhood and happiness. Mothers and daughters. Daughters and mothers. Mothers and sons, sons and mothers. What say you.

Novels and short story collection that focus on motherhood and feminine rage
