The Farm, Joanne Ramos - our book club read this last year. And John Marrs has a book called The Family Experiment. Don’t know if either of these are too far away from what you’re looking for, but thought I’d mention it.

The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson is my favorite motherhood book so far. It’s our lovely poet Maggie Nelson giving us everything the good the bad the ugly - we get all up into it and it’s messy. Way more of an exploration than anything close to a guide. But it’s also about marriage with her queer/trans partner. I really need to reread it. I gifted this to my mother for Mother’s Day one year. It felt that important.
