A little disappointed by this book as it was just From Blood & Ash from Cas's perspective. While I enjoyed some of the extra scenes we didn't get in book 1 from Poppy's perspective it just got pretty boring rereading the same story again.
If it had been half retelling by Cas and half new shit (like more about Malik & Millie or Ires & Malec back in Iliseeum or even more attempts by the remaining Revs) it would have been so much better

Im still 100% sure Casteel is the love of my life and although it obviously was very repetitive I do love that we got his POV, I can’t even describe the way I feel when I think about waiting til June 2025 to read about them again
Just one word…. What the fuck.
Jennifer you did it again.
A little repetitive because it was the first book in Casteel's POV. But it was a fun read! Makes me excited for the rest of the series.
i really do not care about the pov chapters but a star for millicent!
"Don't forget this." She splayed her fingers across my jaw.
"I don't think I ever could."
"Promise me." I lifted my head, catching her stare. "Promise me you won't forget this, Poppy. That no matter what happens tomorrow, the next day, next week, you won't forget this—forget that this was real."
"I promise,” she swore with hesitation. "I won't forget."
