This book is a standalone and the first one for this new series. This one is the story of Phoenix (Nix) and Rosaleigh (Leigh). Rosaleigh is recovering from being left by her husband, who was a dirty copy and taking money from the drug cartels. She's been betrayed by him, of course, but as she starts spending more time with Nix, she realizes how much she was being neglected.
This story is lovely and wrapped up pretty cleanly. The characters are well developed and while they jumped together pretty quickly, they'd also known each other for a long time. Nix did push to make sure that Leigh was completely on board with where they were going before they went all in.
