A story of mix-ups, mess-ups and making the most of second chances, this is the new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jojo Moyes, author of Me Before You and The Giver of Stars. Who are you when you are forced to walk in someone else’s shoes? Nisha Cantor lives the globetrotting life of the seriously wealthy, until her husband announces a divorce and cuts her off. Nisha is determined to hang onto her glamorous life. But in the meantime, she must scramble to cope--she doesn’t even have the shoes she was, until a moment ago, standing in. That’s because Sam Kemp – in the bleakest point of her life – has accidentally taken Nisha’s gym bag. But Sam hardly has time to worry about a lost gym bag--she’s struggling to keep herself and her family afloat. When she tries on Nisha’s six-inch high Christian Louboutin red crocodile shoes, the resulting jolt of confidence that makes her realize something must change—and that thing is herself. Full of Jojo Moyes’ signature humor, brilliant storytelling, and warmth, Someone Else’s Shoes is a story about how just one little thing can suddenly change everything.

I really enjoyed most of this! Definitely a light read and entirely binge-able, I loved that it was a lot more focused on each of the main characters personal struggle and self-growth and friendships than it was on romance. No white knight antics. I do hate that there was one highly critical thing that should have been glaringly obvious to multiple involved characters yet they "forgot" until the very last minute, and also I was just generally disappointed in part of the ending where a couple decisions were made that I felt were dumb and uncharacteristic and shortsighted.
I absolutely loved this one! Jojo Moyes was one of the authors that got me hooked on reading back in 2015 and I will always love her books! This one was a lot different than some of her others, but it still had that special something.
There was a lot going on in that book, and I’ve seen other reviews that didn’t like that about it.
There was drama, serious issues, funny moments, and even a little crime. I had no idea what to expect next! I started out thinking the premise was a little silly. Like, why would a pair of shoes matter THAT much? Well, that question was definitely answered by the end of the book. Also, I didn’t like Nisha at all at the beginning, but she really grew on me. I felt SO bad for Sam all the way through the book. She was in so many impossible situations: her boss, her husband, her parents, her daughter, and recently, a random stranger were causing her so much stress. Yes, the book was unbelievable at times, but it was an extremely fun and enjoyable read.
