Recs if you like Hooky Volume 1...

JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.

books to get for the middle grade readers in your life that have similar vibes but are NOT Harry Potter (and are in fact better)

I have spent years curating a list of graphic novels for myself on goodreads and I thought this place would be great to share it and share my love for graphic novels. I’m not picky about the plot or topics of the graphic novels I read so the list is pretty much any graphic novel I have heard of regardless of topic. Many are middle grade or young adult as is the general trend of the format but recommendations for more (especially adult) would be greatly appreciated.

Also manga is not included.

Who TF needs JKR anymore? We got way better books out there dude

Here we have comics and graphic novels with the spookiest vibes: scary witches, cute ghosts, and even some curses... choose carefully 🎃🍬👻✨️

A mixture of manga, manhwa and graphic novels for anyone who just wants a good story with some great characters without the spice element, or at most 'fade to black' scenes 😃☺️

Middle Grade Graphic Novels because everyone loves pictures with their words! Feel free to suggest more!

Graphic Novels and Series that started as Webtoons/Webcomics

graphic novels, webtoons, mangas are all included only the first volumes of series have been added

A few excellent graphic novels for kids! These books are mostly for Ages 6-15, but some vary. Double-check first before recommending them to a kid, you don't want to accidentally give a book that's too hard to read for them. It's already hard enough to encourage their love for reading without making it harder than it has to be! But, these are all still very good for reluctant readers.

Read the first few volumes online before committing to purchasing them. Most can be found on webtoon. (incl. Graphic Novels listed)

A collection of webtoon covers focused on visuals, cover design and aesthetic.

Includes book series and mainly lists the ones I've read. That doesn't mean the list won't grow later on. Recommendations are welcome.

When I think of Webtoons these pop in my head. Not in a specific order. Let's play used to be on Webtoon. Vibes: Nostalgic

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

We love our witches kind, cozy, and adventurous!

This is a list for the book you will always comeback for later in life!
