i'm kicking my feet with anticipation for these books to finally be in my hands (physically or digitally but as always, mostly through my library apps) so it was only right i make a list to share with the class! happy lezzing out in 2026 💌

Alternatively, these are books I’d recommend to each Dropout cast member if given the opportunity to do so! I’ll be including a legend in the comments to clarify which book goes with each person. lit fic and horror, mainly, and mostly books by women, nonbinary & trans writers, basically mostly non-cis-men

Books about people (particularly women) with a unique job situation. The definition of "unique job situation" is basically vibes. It could be fantastical or surreal, or just a normal job in an unusual situation. Or maybe a job so mundane and specific that the focus on it feels weird. Also books about real people with unique and interesting jobs. (Also I have not read all of these so I'm just going off descriptions for some of them.)

Books of the polyamorous sort. Haven't read all of them so I could be wrong on some. Some of these are set in non-monogamous cultures even if the protagonists themselves are not engaging in romance or polyamory.

Novels with intriguing titles (that I read or that sound interesting) in English (either originally or translated); a mix of genres. Mostly 4+ words in the title, with some select 3-word-titles but no shorter ones. No parts of series except for the first book.

All sorts of stories about all sorts of women. Mostly litfic, some horror.

These books have lgbt+ representation in them even if sometimes it's not the main focus or the leading couple. It's important to me to have a list that has variety and of not just stories about love but also those exploring gender identity and about those who don't experience love the same way like asexuals and aromatics. So far thare's a lot of sapphic books as well as quite a few books w/transgender mc's.
