HURTING MY GIRL IS AN UNFORGIVABLE SIN My neighbor doesn't know I have a key to her house. Doesn't know I watch her sleep or that the dreams of me she has aren't merely dreams. She doesn't know she's my girl, who I've claimed in a blood ritual that will bind our souls together. When she goes out hunting for the supernatural, she draws the attention of Antonio Garcia, alpha of the werewolves and head of a rival gang. He'll attack her to get to me, to deal a blow to my Family that will weaken us in the coming war. But I am the reaper who everyone fears. The "cleaner" of the Family. If anyone touches my girl - if they even just look at her wrong, they'll die. Only...Antonio is consuming something that is causing his power to grow exponentially, and there is a traitor feeding him information. Someone close to me is willing to sacrifice my girl to take control of our Family. Can I hunt them down before they hurt what's mine? Or will they damage her before I can save her?

“men should worship their girls. give them the world they deserve. and the only justice for a cheater is death.”

I didn’t read the tropes in this, so I was surprised with the revelation which made me go back to the first few chapters and checked some clues about ‘her’. The theme and plot in this story were much lighter compare to the previous book, but I'd suggest to still read the triggers because there were certain scenes that might not be your preference.

It's necessary to read the previous book because you're missing out a lot of important details if you're gonna start with this one. In 'Madness Behind the Mask', I got to experience their world and culture through the supernaturals' perspective and I was really immersed by it. While, the world building in this story through a human's perspective, especially through Scarlett, was—for me—insufficient to get me into. It would be great to know the different vibes of the two worlds through her.

Sorry with this one, but Hannah left a strong impression to me than Scarlett. I know her toxicity with her daughter, but I liked her character more. Although, I liked Scarlet's resilience, I didn't feel much connection with her. While, Khalid's character reminds me of Myers, maybe because they're both reapers—or I just missed Myers. I enjoyed reading Khalid's POV because I got to see the gorey stuff, what it was like to be a reaper of the Shadow family and of course Sau! The chemistry between the MCs was pretty mid.

Overall, did I like it? Yes. Did I enjoy it? A bit. Did I love it? No.
