This was an interesting background on an iron-willed woman who exerted an enormous impact on the field of forensics while never actually attending college or holding a degree. Frances Glessner Lee was a fascinating woman and I'm glad that the author is bringing to light how much she did for legal medicine and the evolution of forensics and medical examiners in the United States.

The pace of the book is quite slow, there are a lot of details and different personalities covered and it's partly a biography of Lee and partly a history of forensics but if you're interested in that field or just strong women, it's worth a read.
