I've been watching tech billionaire Byron DeWitt from afar for two years. Ever since that tragic night. Now I finally have my chance to meet him for real. Up close and personal. I've been hired to plan a Halloween party for his software firm, but I can barely keep myself from getting tongue tied in his intense presence. Byron has sworn off happiness or pleasure of any kind and his quiet suffering only draws me closer, turning up the dial on my obsession. But I never expected Byron's obsession to rival my own. For him to command me in ways I never realized I needed. When he finds out who I really am and where I was during that terrible evening two years ago, however, will our passionate inferno continue to build sky high? Or be doused by betrayal?

Jessa Kane did something different here. She gave us a heroine who was the stalker and pursuer this time around and I’m surprised to say that I enjoyed it! Some of the reviews I read had me thinking that it wasn’t going to be good or she did a bad job executing her plot. However, I think she did a good job. I like when authors try new things with their books.
I loved seeing the roles reversed and having the heroine obsessed with the hero! It was also refreshing that we didn’t get the heroine to be a virgin, this time it’s the hero. Some people are mad that Jane was experienced. I don’t get it. It was still insta-love and she hadn’t been with anyone since she saw Byron. So what’s the big deal? That just made her more real and relatable.
To make this even better for me, the couple didn’t have kids in the end. I’m glad that it wasn’t the great end all here. It was just them enjoying their relationship. They were just two people insanely obsessed with each other.
All in all, Jessa tried something new here and I applaud her for it. I enjoyed it and can’t wait for her next book.
