MARAVILLOSO Cuando comencé el libro tenía muchas expectativas, porque he leído todo lo que ha sacado Ali y me encanta, pero esto las ha superado con creces. Simplemente increíble.

I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/ares (if they way, not pressure obviously). I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy. Try to find your country and join that thread! Everyone else?

The other day I was discussing rereading books with someone - and it got me thinking. Do you reread? If so - which books do you commonly reread? I reread the Kate Daniels series (or basically anything Ilona Andrews writes) every year.

Was thinking to myself how I have this ridiculous habit of intentionally speeding through book blurbs trying not to learn too much, leaving a book on my TBR for ages, starting to read it going off the memory of the blurb, and then being completely thrown by what the book is actually about because I realize I didn't actually know. Case in point: started the castle knoll files series today, DEAD CERTAIN the MC was an old male detective. It is about a 25 year old girl and her kooky aunt. This is abundantly clear in the blurb and I have no idea how I misremembered that badly. I spent the first 20 pages going "oh? Oh?? Oh!" So anyway, that got me thinking, do any of y'all have reading quirks like this that are ultimately harmless but kind of weird? A beige flag, if you will?

Hey y'all, Resident yapper here and just wanted to say I'm so excited to see so many new folks chatting books!! As someone who doesn't have many around me that read, pagebound has been such an awesome way to get my thoughts out and talk with others about some of my favorite books! I'm Devin, Father of 2 amazing little girls, husband, book reviewer, and software engineer. I live in CT and i'm 35 years old. I love SFF mostly but willing to dabble in anything. I run bromantasy.com which is a review site attempting to bridge the genre gap for Romantasy and SFF in general. My favorite books are Golden Son (Red Rising Saga), The Will of the Many, Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass), Spear Cuts Through Water, and Howling Dark (Sun Eater). Would love to know a little more about you all, please practice good internet safety when responding!! Again welcome to Pagebound, super glad you've joined this amazing community and look forward to chatting more about your favorite books! 😊

This post is coming to your from a tiny, backyard pub that only seats three people, but since the owner knows/loves me, it has four bookshelves. What are some fun places you have read at? (If you want to see the Frogmore Pub, I just posted a couple pictures to my Instagram, and I have definitely posted more in the past. I use the same username there.)

Saw a friend post about this community and thought to give it a try. Everything is a bit overwhelming though. I got lost a bit until I luckily stumbled into this forum. What's something you wish you've known at the get go when joining pagebound? Any tips to navigate this new community very much welcome throw them all my way ;) I hope I get a grasp on how everything goes here so this won't become just another bookish related account I make!

Sometimes I feel like I'm not a true reader because it does take me a little while longer to read compared to so many ppl I see on social media or even my friends. I have always been a bit of a slower reader.

This was a shockingly moving slice-of-life story considering it's length (under 40 pages). It spans only two days but packs quite a punch, touching on coming of age, family, friendship, community, grief, religion, and purpose. My first read by Abraham Verghese and unlikely to be my last. One suggestion is to read this in one sitting, as I think that will best foster the intended emotional impact.
