There are so many things about this book that I normally love: a good magic system, world building, dragons, but the ending was far too rushed.

Yeah this was alright! Very well written book with an interesting world and cool concepts. Loved the romance.
Despite how long it is, I think the story had a lot of pacing issues, plot contrivances, instant solutions, and underwhelming resolutions. Some of the characters also fell a bit flat for me.
Not a bad read by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe not the best version of what it could have been? I’m interested enough to start the prequel and see more of Shannon’s work.
