Recs if you like Schindler’s List...

So many things we should know about the world we are not told during our education. To know the past is to be able to change the future

Holocaust / world war 2 books about the stories of people inside the camps, in the resistance, or living their lives in occupied territory and similar stories

In the wake of what is happening in the US, I have decided to create a list series with the purpose to remember what once happened that we have now forgotten. I have tried to include many lesser known books which are as important. The list is not exhaustive so please feel free to drop recs on the comment section and I will add the books

This will be the first in these series. It will be followed by non fiction books, history books, fiction books and finally biographies of Nazi politians.

IN PROGRESS AS OF MAY 2026 (I'm rewatching it and trying to put everything in chronological order of the show T.T) - Every single book directly mentioned, referenced in a joke, or clearly seen in the show Gilmore Girls, because I'm obsessed and challenging myself to read them all. I'm also including if they mentioned a movie that's based on a book.

i’ve watched entirely too much TV and movies but they are my livelihood & passion etc etc

For the sake of ease I’m only adding one comic/manga from series if it’s a show.

All of these books I got assigned to read between elementary, middle, and high school and they have changed and wrecked me for the better.
