Season 1 Books Not on Pagebound
S1: E:12 “Double Date” 12:51. Lorelai is reading “Hoover’s Handbook of American Companies 1996.” This would come after “The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath” if you are reading everything in chronological show order.
S1: E:15 “Christopher Returns” 12:22 Rory tells Christopher the book of her dreams is “The Compact Oxford English Dictionary.” This would come after “A Streetcar Named Desire” if you are reading everything in chronological show order.
S1: E:16 “Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers” 2:55. Dean and Rory discuss “Anna Kerinina” which was already mentioned in S1: E:2 “The Lorelais’ First Day at Chilton,” and added to the list at that time.
S1: E:16 “Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers” 18:13 Lorelai references “Lady and the Tramp” which is based on the short story “Happy Dan, The Whistling Dog” by Ward Green. This would come after “Sonnets from the Portuguese” in the chronological reading order.
S1: E:21 “Love, Daisies, & Troubadors” 39:54 There’s a book on the top shelf behind Max that is called “The Heel of Spring” by Frank Rooney.
