Includes works that are mainstream now but were considered a subversion of the familiar in the time period in which they were published. Suggestions always welcome!

Dragons everywhere. From tiny, mischievous hatchlings to wise, ancient sky-soarers, these books are packed with scales, sparks, and heart. Expect warmth, wonder, and at least a little fire.

(some are more obvious than others since some are clearly intended to be satirical and others were just written in such a dry voice it made me chortle)
