Any book that has a cast mostly made up of badass women has a huge place in my heart.
Strike the Zither is a reimagining of a Chinese classic which I definitely want to read now. The story centers around a young but extremely talented strategist, Zephyr, working under a warlordess. The story begins with her playing her cards in such a way she is able to infiltrate the enemy.
I really did enjoy this book. I like the characters, their power and how each of them played a part in the story. I genuinely was able to look past my mild irritation with the books pacing because the vibes of the book were really nice. The main character is actually smart and it didn't feel faked like some other YA authors have their main characters as.
I am not sure if I'll read the sequel, but I really did enjoy this and would recommend it to people who liked novels like Iron Widow and Daughter of the Moon Goddess.
