Reading suggestions for the Trans Rights Readathon! (Any year of course). Books with trans characters of any label (or any non-cis gender identity) by trans/non-cis authors. I have not read all the books in this list. Feel free to name your fave books by trans authors in the comments!

I tried to include most books I know or that have been recommended that either have transfem, transmasc or nonbinary main characters. I only add first in series!

some of these i've read personally, some i have just discovered but all of them sound like incredible reads so i figured i'd put them in a list to share with anyone interested! 🫂

these are not just books about animals. these are books where an owl/crow/deer/shark/bear/genderqueer mountain lion/other concerning critter arrives carrying the entire emotional weight of the novel and nobody does anything about it.

Not necessarily trans, but may feel trans, have a trans author, trans allegories, you get the picture. I haven't read a lot in my adult life, so this may be for those boys too who haven't. Definitely open to suggestions to add to the list!
