Recs if you like Rule of the Aurora King...

these are pulled from a goodreads list that was published--working on trying to find the link again

The god tier list

Books where the main character is going through it, (or has gone through it), and dammit they’re dealing with it as best they can. Romantasy, SFR mainly! But a few memoirs and litfic too. ❤️‍🩹 Always open to more suggestions ❤️‍🩹

*Check the TW/CW as some of these books are dark romances. If I’ve left a review, I will usually leave a comment w the info

Books that either filtered to me directly from or have strong associations with booktok. A lot of dark romance, a lot of smut, some things I would (lovingly) consider "trashy".

Otherwise worth-reading books where somebody (probably the MMC) has a weird, supposedly endearing nickname for somebody else (probably the FMC) that should be a way bigger ick/red flag than they're taking it as.

(Mostly some recently read books of mine so far. I’m trying to cope.)

Please cathartically submit recc’s and share said nicknames that gave you second hand embarrassment

Fantasy books series that start with trials, competitions and games

For fans of sharp tongues and sharper weapons. These magical romances thrive on rivalry, tension, and kisses stolen between battles.

Adult books that have that perfect 50/50 balance of romance and fantasy. It needs to have world building, plot, character development, and love ❤️

Please comment books you think I should add!

A big ‘ole list of all the romantasy out there, from YA Genre-Originators to smutty pirates and mermaids…

~ 🔨 🚧currently under construction as I slowly go through my TBR/backlist🚧 🔧~

As a dark skin Pacific Islander who was raised internationally and in the USA, I have a lifelong yearning for BIPOC stories. This list focuses on the characters, cos I do enjoy my favorite writers lending their skills to celebrate our awesomeness.

Romance recs that made me feel something in my cold, dead heart.
