Not quite sure what to think of this one. The imagery is really well done and the flow of the writing is easy to grasp. But the overall story leaves much to be desired. I understand it’s a short story, but I think what threw me mostly off was the ending. To me I feel like we saw the struggle of Charlotte rising and taking her vengeance out on the house and I’m going to assume the many other people who were responsible for the deaths of her and so many others, but what I don’t get is why she killed the other girl? She was innocent and about to be used for the same sacrifice so I don’t get why that happened. I thought she was going to save her but nope. It’s a puzzling end.
