Tapotement: the use of various light, quick chopping, slapping, or beating strokes on the body during massage.
Jay Envy, known to nearly everyone as Birdy, has her own massage parlor and she is very good and popular with her clients. She’s had some bad luck in the romance department. Her ex, Kyle, treated her badly and then stalked her. She thinks he’s done now and has moved on. Jay hires Creed Security on the recommendation of her friend Mandy to install security at her parlor. She meets Reed the day he comes to install the alarm. They instantly are taken with each other and interested in exploring more. That begins a relationship that sizzles all over the page!
I loved all the characters in this story except for Kyle, because, well, he’s lower than pond scum. Jay is smart and funny. She is an empath (like me) so she feels everything acutely and sometimes has trouble sorting out her feelings from those of other (or pushing others out so she can rest). I also love how she has song breaks throughout her life (I do this also!). Reed is hot, funny, and I love when he goes alpha to protect Jay. He just wants his Jaybird to be safe and not exposed to the pond scum too much. He shows Jay so much understanding.
The suspense keeps this book moving and knowing there is more to come for the other members of Reed’s team has me excited for what’s to come!
