A sapphic opposites-attract romance with Mazey Edding's signature sparkling voice! Winning the lottery has ruined Opal Devlin's’s life. After quitting her dead-end job where she’d earned minimum wage and even less respect, she’s bombarded by people knocking at her door for a handout the second they found out her bank account was overflowing with cash. And Opal can’t seem to stop saying yes. With her tender heart thoroughly abused, Opal decides to protect herself by any means necessary, which to her translates to putting almost all her new money to buying a failing flower farm in Asheville, North Carolina to let the flowers live out their plant destiny while she uses the cabin on the property to start her painting business. But her plans for isolation and self-preservation go hopelessly awry when an angry (albeit gorgeous) Pepper Smith is waiting for her at her new farm. Pepper states she’s the rightful owner of Thistle and Bloom Farms, and isn’t moving out. The unlikely pair strike up an agreement of co-habitation, and butt-heads at every turn. Can these opposites both live out their dreams and plant roots? Or will their combustible arguing (and growing attraction) burn the whole place down?

I loved this book so much, the chemistry between Opal and Pepper was my favorite. I loved the backstory of both characters, though they were sad I thought it gave such a good foundation for their love. I am a sucker for the 'let's make a deal to get these feelings out of our systems' and watching that deal fail every time. I love seeing them unable to suppress their feelings for each other. I really loved the whole plot of this book and think that the way it unfolded was so well written. I want to go read all the other books by Mazey Eddings as her writing style is so enjoyable. I appreciated the mass amount of queer representation in this book, it honestly felt like a warm hug. I also really really enjoyed the autism representation in Late Bloomer. This book was everything I wanted and more, Mazey Eddings is easily added to my auto-buy author list.
Huge thank you to netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Characters-10
In my quick B&N review, I called this book delightful. Opal and Pepper were great and I loved them. Each of them had elements of my personality, so I loved seeing each grow. The dual pov element of this is great because you hear from both perspectives.
Atmosphere-10
I want to go live at Thistle & Bloom. The atmosphere in this book is great. I loved the small-town vibes of Ashville.
Writing-10
This was my second book but my first adult book from Mazey Eddings. She has a great writing style, and I'll definitely read more from her. I love the balance between fun and heavier scenes.
Plot-9
I loved this story. I thought the completion element was great. I loved seeing the romance blossom over the course of the story.
Intrigue-9
I was interested in this story. I wanted to see where certain elements of the story were going to go.
Logic-10
This was a story where the characters wore their emotions on the sleeves. They talked about how they were feeling because at times it was tough for Pepper and Opal to read how each other was feeling.
Enjoyment-9
This book was a great time. I felt seen in some of the characters and I loved the discussions in the book.
Extras
Hearfelt, Love, & Fluff 5/5
The love in this was great. It was a story about people who didn't care for each other at the start of the story learning and growing together. I just ate this up.
Tears & Humor 4/5
This was an even mix of funny dialogue and scenes that made you cry and pulled on your emotions.
Spice-3/5-Open Door
I'm rating this a three because there were two scenes, but they were pretty spicy.
