Notoriously bad at peopling, Isadora Savoie spends most of her time in the greenhouse or at the local animal shelter, using her Conduit powers of growth and healing. Content to remain in the background of the Savoie sister shenanigans, she’s reluctantly roped into the mystery of missing neighborhood girls. Now, she’s partnered with a flashy, flirty vampire to find them before it’s too late. Devraj Kumar has seen and done it all. Three hundred years roaming the earth as a Stygorn — a legendary vampire warrior who operates in the shadows — has its perks. But ennui has set in. That is, until he has a run-in — literally — with an intriguing witch while on a new assignment in New Orleans. Fascinated by her resistance to his charms, Devraj can’t help but push her buttons in an effort to get to know the shy witch. Fortunately for him, she’s been recruited by the Lord of Vampires to assist Devraj on the case. Between a Bollywood marathon, supernatural dating app, secret package, and sexy driving instruction, Isadora is in over her head. And Devraj? After just one taste, he’s playing for keeps.

Love this author's writing style and overall tone!
-Isadora was cool, was nice to read about a more homebody personality. She was feisty and it was great to see how much she cared about plants/pets/family etc, but she was overshadowed by her love interest:
-Devraj just stole the freaking show in this book! He was hot and charming and charismatic; smart, sexy, chivalrous, protective. I loved how he was insta-smitten with Isadora but also we got to see his feelings grow and watch him fall for her throughout the book. His point of view was great, continued to deepen his character and allow us to see him better. He was lusty but also he was respectful, *swoon* I liked the steamy scenes too--done well!
-I liked returning to this family and location again in this book, with interesting interpretations of some lore creatures and how they get along (or don't) especially in a contemporary time setting
-I thought both Devraj and Isadora were realistic/practical and logical about their reasons for why they shouldn't/wouldn't pursue a relationship together. Definitely appreciate this, since it drives me bonkers when the main character has absolutely terrible/nonsensical reasons to not go for the other person!
-Good resolution on the mystery/crime element, though I didn't really care about that much
-My only gripe is the final resolution of the romance, because his dramatic declaration didn't feel like it fit with either his character nor with how Isadora would have wanted that to go? It was fun to read and I laughed and enjoyed it, but also it felt a bit jarring to me
