Set in Ancient West Asia and North Africa
Mostly fiction inspired by Sumerian, Akkadian, Egyptian, Canaanite (and Roman Levant), Hittite, Persian etc…
I see a lot of Greek myth retellings or books inspired by them, but not that much from SWANA.
The period spans from 8th millennium BCE to 7th century BCE. This is very much unique to Sumerian culture. But there aren’t a lot of Sumerian inspired works out there. And since, we’re bound by the constraints of what’s available, I’ve been lax with the criteria.

Toxic BL/Yaoi Manwha
Angst, drama, obsession, tons of sex (and some rape 🫣), bad judgment, manipulation, and abusive behavior are featured in abundance. Sometimes you just want to hurt your own feelings.
These relationships are unhealthy. We know. It’s also hella popular for a reason. We don’t judge 🫶
Tread with caution, these are all red or black flags and noncon is featured.
Open to recs, pain should be shared ofc!

BL/Yaoi Starter 3
Now you’re into BL, right? Now it’s time for some oldies!
Red/black flags are present, some are pretty wild so tread with caution!
If you have any questions, let me know and as always feedback is welcome 🥰

Healing is optional, suffering is the focus
I have come to realise I am driven to stories which have a big focus on trauma. Here is a list of what I have already finished and enjoyed with a big focus on trauma either directly or indirectly through metaphors. Some of these will be more intense than others, please do read the description of each one for content warnings. I will try to keep this updated as I read more, you can mention recommendations in the comments but I won't add anything unless I have read it myself xD

Seven Seas Entertainment Series that I’ve read
Basically what it says in the name. This is a list of series from Seven Seas Entertainment that I’ve read/are reading. (The ones that I’ve found on the Seven Seas Entertainment list on the website) Some may be out of order.
