Recs if you like Radiance...

I'm sure some of these are already on your TBR, so might as well add some more! Let me know if I am missing any of your favorites!

This is a list for those of you that love dark fantasy (dying gods, monsters in the woods, that kind of thing), but you also have a soft side for softies. These books still have that grim atmosphere, but they also have characters who are green flags. Someone who asks permission, protects without smothering, or just does the right thing when no one else will.

one of the best tropes is when the nonhuman mc doesn’t know what kissing is and the human mc has to teach them 😈

as always, taking any and all suggestions!!

Why settle when you can have a monster obsessed with you.

Monster, Mermen, Alien, Entity, Demons, Vampires, Wolf, Orc, ect.

Horror, Fantasy, Romance, and Smut.

Straight & queer

Standalone & series Only first books in series were added because why would you read a second book if you didn't like the first.

A collection of adult fantasy romance with mature main characters. This list includes both standalones and the first book in series. Let me know if you have any recs!!

Romance books with characters and a romance that feels mature. There is no or very low drama in the romance itself. It's often a slowburn, sometimes medium burn and feels very natural. The characters are either emotionally aware, possess a decent level of emotional intelligence, or are actively trying to communicate even if it's hard. Aside from the romance there is ample time for the characters to have growth on their own.

Keywords; Mature, slow/med burn, no drama, steady, emotional security.

It’s what it says on the tin: romance & erotica with monster main characters and/or love interests that are peculiar, eldritch, or downright horrifying. Open to recs!

Romances with Vikings, Barbarians, Berserkers and other warlords as the mmc.

Books where he maybe…invades her country, is a feared warlord in their armies, is given to him as a warprize, or she is put into an arranged marriage with him as part of a alliance or peace negotiations…or maybe he is a alien race that actually goes beserk when he’s angry 🤷‍♀️.

woman mc + women main cast

Two nobles arranged in marriage, magical worlds, fragile political alliances, kingdoms at stake... what could go wrong?

Some marriages will flourish, some are simply convenient, and some won't end happily ever after ❤️‍🔥

Books where the story is brought to another level by the character development, be it in the complex character building or the multi layered character arc. The writer made the characters like facets, every angle and every relation gives them yet another aspect to further deepen the dynamic between characters. Every little bit of past revealed shows us the way they became who they are now. Leaving us with characters arcs that feel like an entire story on their own that impacts the greater plot.

Monster and cryptic romance, with some aliens sprinkled in.

Fantasy romance books from before the coining of Romantasy.

A collection of recommendations for the stories of couples who basically meet at the altar and then have to figure each other out after they’re already married. Sometimes reluctant, sometimes secretly pining, sometimes fully in denial, always a little tense

Slow burn, emotional intimacy, shared beds with stranger energy 😌 (hopefully not stranger danger energy)

Made from all your amazing recs, and very much open for more 📚✨
