This one was published after I graduated high school, and long after I stopped reading the series, so this was my first time reading it. It was also my first introduction to Abby. It was pretty much what I expected, with the typical Super Special travel diary format that I remember from the SSs I did read.
Mostly, I was surprised that after all these years I still felt like skimming through the whole introduce-the-club review chapter. I was disappointed in the lack of clothing descriptions. How can Stacey write chapters without describing her "fashion forward" outfits? How can anyone in sight of Claudia fail to describe her unique style? The chapters felt very short, and it felt like each character's story was even shorter and not well developed. Since I didn't read this one as a kid, I'm not sure if all the SSs were like that or if it's just reading this from an adult perspective? Otherwise, picking up these characters was like greeting an old friend.
